Introduction
The relevance of the chosen topics for study is that the modern banking system is the most important sector of the national economy of any developed country. Its practical role is determined by what it manages in the state system of payments and settlements; most of their commercial transactions carries through deposits, investments and credit operations; along with other financial intermediaries, banks direct the savings to firms and industrial structures. The main link of a banking system are commercial banks.
Commercial banks act primarily as specific credit institutions which, on the one hand, attract temporarily surplus funds of the economy; on the other satisfy these borrowed funds diverse financial needs of enterprises, organizations and population.
In modern society, banks perform a variety of operations. Not only did they organize cash flow and credit relations: through them are the financing of national economy, insurance operations, purchase and sale of securities, and in some cases intermediary transactions and management of property. Lending institutions act as consultants, participate in discussion of economic programs, keep statistics.
Any economy rests on objective economic laws, one of which is the law of monetary circulation. The circulation of money is influenced by financial institutions, primarily banks, which provide the basis for cash flow and associated with all branches and sectors of the economy. Banks provide financing for all sectors of business, the production and nonproduction spheres, spheres of control and fill the budget (both Federal and territorial) with the necessary funds. Through the banks is also a two-way traffic of money borrowed (the loan). Today, commercial banks are able to provide customers with up to 200 types of banking products and operations.
Commercial banks carry out active and passive operations. These operations are similar to the two opposite sides. Without passive operations active operations impossible, and without active operations become meaningless passive. But without exception, conducted banking operations have the same goal - increase revenue and reduce costs.
Commercial banks – universal credit institution, created for attraction and placement of monetary funds on terms of repayment and payment of interest, and carry out many other banking transactions.
Regardless of the form of ownership, commercial banks are independent economic actors.
Commercial banks, acting in accordance with monetary policy, regulate capital flows, affecting the speed of their turnover, emission, the total mass, including the amount of cash in circulation. Stabilization of monetary growth is the key to reducing inflation, ensuring the constancy of the price level at which market relations affect the economy of the national economy in the most efficient manner.
The main condition for the activity of the Bank, subject to its strategic and operational management is the rational combination of active and passive operations, their clear structuring, the lack of an imbalance in attracting and placing funds. Addressing these issues is systematic analysis of the Bank´s operations.
The relationship between active and passive operations of commercial banks is extremely difficult. Therefore need a clear analysis of all spheres of banking activities. So, if the analysis of liabilities is the analysis of the Bank´s resources, the analysis of the asset, there is an analysis of trends in the use of these resources – for what purpose, to what extent, for how long and to whom they are provided. On the asset side of the balance sheet of a commercial Bank can be traced to the allocation of resources the Bank´s operations.
