Task 10
Preparation of nitric oxide (II) in the manufacture of nitric acid
1. Describe the characteristics of nitrogen oxide and nitric acid. Indicate the scope and scale of production.
2. Specify the sources of raw materials for nitrogen oxides and nitric acid.
3. Briefly describe the modern industrial methods for producing nitric acid. Specify and justify promising methods.
4. Describe the physical and chemical properties of the system, laid the basis for producing nitric oxide by catalytic oxidation of ammonia with oxygen in the air. Determine the type of process. Justify the choice of the contact apparatus.
5. Draw anparaturno-technological scheme of production of nitric acid at a pressure of 0.75 MPa. Obosnuytё optimal variant of technological regime. Specify measures to protect the environment in the production of nitric acid.
6. Calculate and make the material balance of the oxidation of ammonia by air oxygen.
Data for calculating
1. The degree of oxidation of nitric oxide (II) to nitric oxide (IV) - 98%.
2. The extent of absorption of nitrogen oxides 98.5%. .
3. Inlet air temperature - 25 0C.
The base of calculation - Daily power installation
Productivity, thousand tons / year of 60% HNO3 - 250.
The volume ratio of O2: NH3 - 1,95
The oxidation of ammonia,% - 98.2.
Relative humidity,% - 42.
Calculation:
1. Calculate the performance of 100% HNO3
2. In view of oxidation NH3, NO and extent of absorption to calculate the required amount of NH3.
