The fourth novel by Vladimir Stepanov - the specifics and peculiarities of the Russian customs service mid-90s, when the leaders appointed "zolotopogonnyh" KGB and the Interior Ministry generals. Against this background, the novel hero Victor Lukin of Criminal Investigation appoint one of the leaders of the Moscow customs. In the USSR Customs was "mystery" and was under the direct control of the state security bodies. In the new Russia, in the period of its establishment, customs acquires independence, but secrecy is not diminished, as the customs authorities almost half replenish the state budget.
